So what's this all about, anyway?
On March 4th, 2005, I set off on a three week vacation to Australia with my friend Julie. The initial motivation for the trip was to attend the wedding of Julie's friend Rich in Perth on March 19th, but we decided if we were going all the way from Atlanta to Australia, we might as well make it worth the trip. So, we planned out a three week journey that took us all over Australia, including stops in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Cairns, Perth, Margaret River, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, and a lot of places in between.
The goal for this website is to summarize the trip for our friends, and show off a few of the pictures that we took. Between the two of us (mostly me), we took about 1200 pictures. I'm not much of a photographer, and I'm still learning how to use my Canon S70 digital camera, but even so, some of the photos came out pretty good.
Most of the links in the text are to 800x600 photographs. If for some reason you really like any of the photos, let me know - I've got at least 1600x1200 versions of all of them, and larger versions of some. Except where noted, the photos are unaltered, with no tweaking done in Photoshop. A couple of the links are to pages containing one or more photographs and a bit of extra information about the photos, and I included links to websites about a couple of the attractions we saw, as well.
Feedback about the website and the photos is welcome. Enjoy!
