The Ramblin' Wreck Visits the Emerald Isle!

Around the middle of 2015, a football game between Georgia Tech and Boston College in Dublin, Ireland was announced. The game would kick off the 2016 season in early September. Julie and I were thrilled - I travel to every Tech game, Julie goes to most of them, and Ireland's always been on the list of places we'd like to visit, so this was a great opportunity all around. We decided to make a two-week trip out of it, culminating in the game itself.

Over the next year-plus, there were some ups and downs where it looked like the game might not happen due to financial issues. Planning the trip was difficult and stressful, too - trying to cram as much of two countries (Ireland and Northern Ireland) as you can see into two weeks is a challenge, and everything sounded so good that it was hard to decide what to skip. But eventually we settled on a feasible plan, got everything booked, and set forth on another adventure.

The purpose of this site is to help us remember all the details of the trip, tell our friends about the things that we did, and show off some of the photos that I took with my trusty Canon point-and-shoot camera. For a more photo-centric view of the trip, I've included links to Flickr albums for each segment of the trip on each page.
